Siskin plays a Plex music library on a car's built-in screen. It runs on Android Automotive OS — the Android that ships as the head unit itself, in cars from Volvo, Polestar, GM and others.
It is a media source in the car, not a phone app projecting into one. Siskin is installed on the vehicle, appears beside the car's other media sources, and is driven by the car's own controls and screen. There is no phone involved.
What it does
- Your library, as you filed it Playlists, artists and albums, browsed the way the car expects. Artists group by first letter so a long list stays reachable at a glance.
- Mixes, not modes Artist, Playlist and Decade Mixes hand over a shuffled queue you can see — rather than flipping a shuffle mode you have to trust.
- Decades The library by decade, each one drawn with a mosaic of covers from it.
- Picks up where you left off The queue survives the end of a drive, and the start of the next one.
What it doesn't do
There is no phone app, no Siskin account, and no server of ours anywhere. Siskin talks to your Plex server and to nothing else.
The developer receives nothing — no analytics, no crash reporting, no telemetry. That is set out in full in the privacy policy.
Getting it
Siskin is in testing. The Play listing exists but is not public yet — unless you are enrolled in the test, it will tell you the item was not found. The address will not change when it opens up.
